Carmen
Medina has been the Program Manager of the Language Center at the World
Trade Institute of Pace University since 1998, where she oversees all
foreign language programs as well as the translation services
department. In addition to her normal duties, she is an adjunct
professor of Spanish language at Pace University and also acts as a
translator, editor and proofreader for the World Trade Institute. Prior
to her promotion to Manager of the Language Center, she supervised a
school site at the New York City Vocational Training Center and taught
Spanish at the World Trade Institute.
Carmen received her education from the University of Castilla-La Mancha
in Spain where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in French
Philology. In 1992, she was awarded the ERASMUS scholarship by the
European Union for study at the University of Franche Comté in Besançon,
France.
Carmen
serves as officer to several professional organizations and holds
numerous certifications and accreditations. Among her affiliations, she
is an accredited translator with the American Translators Association
(ATA) and holds a Certificate in Translation from New York University.
Carmen
also writes the column: "Otras fuentes cibernéticas" for
Apuntes where she reviews Internet and translation related articles.
