Born in the
U.S., Mr. Gómez is a former senior career diplomat, and has lived in
Latin
America, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. He began his work in
languages as
an English teacher in Guatemala in 1960, later teaching Spanish for the
Peace
Corps at the University of Washington. On concluding his diplomatic
career, he
moved to New York City where for 15 years he directed external affairs
and
media relations for a Fortune 10 company. He earned his certificate in
Translation from New York University and has taught French and Spanish
translation since 1996.
